Introduction to Beauty, Laser and Dermal Therapy

Our Introduction to Beauty, Laser and Dermal Therapy is a FREE introductory course for school students in year 10, 11 or 12, leaving school at the end of 2025 and seriously considering studying at the AABT for the coming year 2026.

Course Coverage

Run over 6 weeks, one evening a week, the course covers an introduction to:

• Makeup skills for self
• Lash and Brow Treatments
• Understanding your Skin Type and how to perform a professional cleanse and exfoliation
• Laser, IPL and Dermal Therapies – information and demonstrations only by our Specialised Laser and Dermal Educator
• Information Evening – explore and tour our facilities, learn about career options, government funding and ask questions. The night is open for you to bring parents and friends who would also like to learn more about a career in Beauty, Laser and Dermal.

On completion of the full 6 weeks, all students will receive the AABT – Introduction to Beauty, Laser and Dermal Therapies participation certificate.

There are no assessments in this course. It is highly interactive and a lot of fun for students.

Additional Information About This Program

This introductory program has replaced our work experience program, so students receive more guidance from our trainers, away from their normal teaching requirements.

Please ask your school if this introductory course satisfies school work experience requirements.

How to Register

To register for the next course, please complete the application form below.

Due to limited places, this introductory course is only open to those leaving school at the end of the year and seriously considering Beauty, Laser and Dermal Therapy as a career.

We also hold an information evening during the 6 weeks, and a parent is required to attend on the evening and agreeing to do this is a condition of acceptance into this course.

Dates of the information evening will be advised when the course starts.

Those leaving school in future years will be able to apply for this free course in the year they leave school.

Deposit and Attendance Conditions

A deposit of $100 is required to ensure places are only held for genuine enrolments. This will be refunded after the completion of the 6 weeks. Attendance every evening is required for the course refund.

There is no refund for cancellations but it can be transferred to a future course. There are no refunds for a change of mind.
